Impact Evaluator: Round 2

Overview

The IPFS Implementations Fund is accelerating adoption of IPFS through new implementations and integrations. Grant disbursement has already begun through a traditional grant review process, and an Impact Evaluator round is being run every six months to retrospectively reward valuable work performed within the IPFS Implementations Fund Scope.

Using Protocol Labs’ Impact Evaluator tool, builders will submit projects to the evaluation round, then use the same tool to vote on other projects that they believe made valuable contributions to the ecosystem over the past six months.

Round Details

• Evaluation method: Quadratic Voting
  • 150 credits to IPFS subject matter experts
  • 100 credits to builders who submit a project within the fund’s scope
  • 50 credits for eligible community members (confirmed via form submission) who
    • attended IPFS Thing 2022
    • are a pinning service providers
    • contributed to the Kubo, Helia, Nebu, or Iroh repos prior to 2023.03.22
• Time period being evaluated: Past six months
• Prize Pool: $100,000 (awarded in FIL)
• Reward Calculation: The prize pool will be proportionally allocated according to the total votes received by each project. For example, if a project gets 10% of the total votes, it will receive 10% of the prize pool.

• Major developer productivity & tooling
• Platform or language-specific integrations

Outside investment scope

• Complete implementations of underlying projects (libp2p, IPLD, multiformats)
• Projects building on top of implementations
