Overview

Space Warp is a multi-initiative program leading up to the Filecoin Virtual Machine’s mainnet launch in March 2023. In addition to Microgrants and the FVM Space Warp Hackathon, Space Warp will feature Impact Evaluator (IE) rounds, where the community can vote on top projects to win prizes from a $75k prize pool over the course of 12+ weeks. Results of these rounds will be shared openly on the FVM Builders Leaderboard on the Space Warp website.

Impact Evaluators & Space Warp Rounds

IEs are systems or mechanisms for measuring, evaluating, and rewarding valuable work towards specific objectives (learn more here).

To evaluate top FVM projects, builders and a group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will use Protocol Labs’ Impact Evaluator Tool to vote on projects they believe are most valuable. This process will use Quadratic Voting (QV), where evaluators allocate “voice credits” to eligible projects. In QV, voice credits convert into “counted votes” according to their square root, meaning that one voice credit put towards a project equals one vote; four credits equal two votes; and so on. Learn more about QV in the FAQ below, and see further round details here:

Round Details:

Eligibility

All projects building on FVM are eligible to participate in the IE rounds, and each round’s results will be displayed on the Builders Leaderboard.

Also, to be eligible to receive funding rewards, a team or solo builder must both submit a project and join the round as an evaluator to vote on other projects.

Instructions:

To participate (meaning to receive rewards and to be featured on the leaderboard), builders must follow each of these three steps:

  1. Submit a project to the upcoming IE round using the using the form linked above
  2. Register for Protocol Labs' IE voting tool (one vote per submitted project)*
